Excavation of Lintang J Lubang Stone Allegedly Covert Project of Village Head
MediaBantenCyber.co.id – (MBC) Pacitan, The activity of excavating lintang-type minerals in the Jlumbang or J Lubang Village area, Pringkuku, Pacitan Regency, is suspected to be a covert project carried out without official permission. Based on the information gathered, this activity was initiated by the local Village Head (Kades), whose implementation was then handed over to Mbah Selamet as the land owner.
Excavation is carried out using heavy equipment in the form of excavators. In his confession to the media crew, Mbah Selamet stated that the excavation results were separated to be sent outside the area: part of the landfill was sent to the Ponorogo area, while the lintang stone was transported and supplied to the Tulungagung area. He also confirmed that this activity initially came from the Village Head’s initiative and was handed over to him to carry out. This activity is known to have been going on for some time and is still going on today.
The excavation has damaged the soil structure, retaining walls, and changed the contour of the original environment. This condition is considered to have a high risk of causing landslides and wider environmental damage around the location.
Legal Status
Even though it is carried out on privately owned land, this activity still violates the provisions of the applicable laws:
– The Village Head does not have the authority to organize, regulate or facilitate mining activities in any form. If proven to be the initiator and entrusting its implementation to another party, this is classified as abuse of position and authority in accordance with Law Number 31 of 1999 in conjunction with 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, and can be charged with other criminal acts.
– Transporting excavated products outside the area without a certificate of origin and official shipping documents is also a separate violation.
Reports regarding the alleged covert project without permits have been submitted to the Pacitan Police, the District Energy and Mineral Resources Service, and the Pacitan District Prosecutor’s Office. The authorities are asked to immediately carry out an in-depth investigation, stop this detrimental activity, and prosecute all parties involved according to their respective roles.
