Ciliwung River Normalization, Owners of 20 Plots of Land in Cawang Receive Compensation

JAKARTA, POSKOTA.CO.ID – Residents of RW 03, Taman Harapan, Cawang, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, received compensation for land acquisition for the normalization of the Ciliwung River.

Head of Kramat Jati Subdistrict, Kamal, said that 20 plots of land in RW 03 affected by Ciliwung normalization had received compensation payments and the release of rights was being continued for the next stage.

“Regarding compensation, affected residents have received compensation payments in accordance with applicable regulations, and the process was carried out transparently and accountably,” said Kamal to Poskota, Saturday, February 7 2026.

Kamal said that residents were considered to understand the main purpose of arranging river banks to reduce the risk of flooding in the surrounding residential areas.

“Residents understand that this normalization program is part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial government’s efforts to prevent and control floods, especially in areas that have been prone to being affected by the overflow of the Ciliwung River,” he said.

Meanwhile, there are 14 other affected land parcels that have undergone the process of releasing rights through the East Jakarta Land Office in 2026.

“For 2026, as many as 14 affected areas have been released through the East Jakarta defense office,” he said. (cr-4)
