Jakarta Ramadhan Festival Officially Begins, Pramono Invites Residents to ‘Go Home to Jakarta’

JAKARTA, POSKOTA.CO.ID – The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) officially started the series of Jakarta Ramadhan Festival events, on Friday, February 27 2026.

This festival runs until March 31 2026 and presents various religious, cultural, entertainment and shopping promotions to celebrate Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr in Jakarta.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that the Ramadhan Festival carries the theme ‘Homecoming to Jakarta’.

This theme was raised as an alternative for people who choose not to return to their hometowns to avoid traffic jams and overcrowded homecoming traffic.

“So we are holding the Jakarta Ramadhan Festival. The main theme is going home to Jakarta. Why go back to Jakarta? Instead of traffic jams, it will be difficult. Then now is the era of video calls. You can video call with siblings, you can meet at any time,” said Pramono at the HI Roundabout, Central Jakarta.

Pramono emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government will provide various incentives and discounts in shopping centers, shops and hotels in Jakarta.

“But this time Jakarta will provide many convenience facilities, discounts. Be it in shopping centers, in shops, in existing hotels,” said Pramono.

He will also provide tax incentives for malls and hotels that provide big discounts to the public.

“We will provide tax incentives. So that everyone will get convenience. Both those selling and those buying, the prices are cheap,” he said.
