The 65 meter long dividing wall of a house in Kalibata collapsed into the school area, no casualties

JAKARTA, POSKOTA.CO.ID – A wall dividing a resident’s house in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta, collapsed and entered the area of ​​SMPN 182 Kalibata on Sunday, February 15 2026.

This incident left building debris strewn around the school area and blocked part of the parking lot.

Luckily, the incident occurred during a holiday so there were no teaching and learning activities or students at the location. There were no fatalities or injuries in the incident.

Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta, Isnawa Adji, said that the wall collapse incident occurred at 11.22 WIB and is currently still being handled by joint officers.

He said the cause of the wall collapse was due to the contour of the landfill.

“The time of the incident was 11.22 WIB and (until now) it is still being handled. The cause of the unstable soil structure (Soil Urukan),” said Isnawa to Poskota, Sunday, February 15 2026.

Isnawa said that the wall that collapsed was around 65 meters long and 5.3 meters high. The wall suddenly collapsed towards the school due to the unstable condition of the soil structure because it was filled land.

“The resident’s wall, which was 65 meters long and 5.3 meters high, suddenly collapsed in the direction of SMPN 182. Because the soil structure was unstable (fill in the ground), this caused the wall to collapse,” said Isnawa.

Isnawa said that as a result of the incident, the water channel around the location was blocked by building materials and the school parking lot was affected by rubble.
