Handling the Impact of Fire, PT Biotek Prepares Laboratory Tests and River Water Neutralization

MediaBantenCyber.co.id (MBS), South Tangerang — PT Biotek Saranatama prepared laboratory tests and neutralization of river water after a fire occurred in the Taman Tekno area, Serpong, South Tangerang City, on Monday morning (9/2/2026). This step is taken to ensure water quality remains safe for the surrounding community.

The Head of Setu Subdistrict, Erwin Gemala Putra, said that his party had held a coordination meeting with PT Biotek Saranatama and a number of related agencies to discuss steps to deal with the impact of fires which triggered water pollution.

“Today we have just finished holding a meeting with PT Biotek Saranatama together with related elements. The focus of the discussion was steps to handle the impact of the pollution that occurred,” said Erwin, Tuesday (10/2/2026).

From the results of the coordination, PT Biotek Saranatama stated that it would prepare an antidote formula to neutralize water that had flowed into the river basin. The process of reviewing this formula is still ongoing.

Erwin emphasized that quick steps are very important so that the impact of pollution does not spread and endanger local residents. Public safety is the government’s top priority.

“What we have to pay attention to is that no residents are affected by pollution, whether through air or water. Therefore, treatment must be carried out immediately,” he stressed.

PT Biotek Saranatama Operations Manager, Luki, added that the company had coordinated with the Environmental Service (DLH) to neutralize the affected river water, as well as placing active carbon at several points to absorb pollutants.

“God willing, tomorrow we will carry out neutralization in the polluted river. Even though the water is flowing and the possibility of contamination is reduced, we are still careful with laboratory checks and DLH supervision,” explained Luki.

He emphasized that the location of the fire was a storage warehouse, not a factory operational facility, so there was previously no production waste in the area. The pollution that occurred was purely due to a fire accident.

“This is purely a disaster. This is only a warehouse here, not a factory operational area, so previously there was no waste,” said Luki.

Apart from that, all company legalities are complete and registered with government agencies, including the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Environment.

“All legalities are open and registered. We are committed to fulfilling all applicable regulations,” he said.
